I have been scratching for the past few months and even bite my tail till it bled. The vet suggest that we do an trial and error to see whether it's the food that's causing the allergy. Right now I'm having Barf but in combi..so for now I can only take 1 type of meat in oder to get to the root of the problem. My situation is quite bad as I can scratch the whole night. So mummy put me on and off the collar once I start my scratching frenzy. I totally hate it!

Trying to act pitiful so that the cone can be removed

Mummy bought this toy and many others from Petflys. It is made from natural organic cotton. It's a crochet cupcake and she even bought a donut,an ice cream,a mouse and 2 monekys from them. Mummy is now so worried about those chemicals found in my toys and she is even thinking of stoppping all my rawhide chews. Now my chews are all natural stuff. But she has not yet get over the mental barrier of the bully stick therefore I'm not getting them at the moment. But I'm ok with it, now my chewies consist of either lamb ears,beef tripe or ribs. I am a happy dog :) New toy destroyed in 5mins

Everyday when mummy and daddy leaves for work, they will out me at Ah-ma's house. Though there is always someone home to look after and accompany me, I would sometimes wish for a 4-legged friend to run around with me. After 1 year,my wish came true! Bailey is here to stay! She is a Shi-Tzu,3 years old and is a beautiful white and grey color. She belongs to 2nd uncle's wife and they are here to live with Ah-ma and Ah-gong so I have a permanant playmate when I go for my day care :D This is Bailey Hey Bailey,wanna play "catch"?Waiting for her parents to come back

Mummy's off today ans surprisingly she got up at 7.30am and brought me for a morning walk in the park :) A 1st time for her off days as we normally walk in the evening. This morning walk will never happen with Daddy.

It was a nice walk,we saw people doing tai-chi,such a healthy lifestyle. The park is next to the lake so we had a nice view as well. As I'm not a regular walker, we walk for 1/2 hour and went home to rest. And guess what's next? Mummy brought me to K9 to meet Michelle yi-yi :D There was a Westie when we arrived and we had fun running around, of cos I got barky again :( Then 2 CHH came and another Westie. It was great fun! The regualra were there too, Polly or Molly, a schnauzer, a cocker and a GR. But they were not allowed in the cafe by their owners.

Sydney is here for boarding! Or not.

Sydney's parents are going for a short trip and since mummy is on leave, she offered to help look after Sydney. Oh boy, what fun we'll have running around all day. But change of plans last min and Sydney is going home after her 1st night here. But nevertheless, we had such great fun :) Slept at 2am and woke up at 7am...such fun. Come to stay someday again! Till our next kopi outing again...

Nika: I'm baaaaaaack!! After AWOL for duno how many decades, I'm finally back to update my paw friends on my life. The past few months have been so busy for me and also I'm too lazy. But if I were to tell you what have been happening the past few months, I will take 2 whole days so I'll just post some important + happy days in my life *woof woof*

Hi 5!
Mummy got inspired by Dodo & Momo when she saw they doing hi-5s. So you can guess,that's what I learnt as well. She's still thinking of new tricks to teach but I think her brain juices are dried up. So far I know sit, stay, hi-5,wait. But all this are subjected to environment changes. You can't expect me to sit and stay when I see my friends around right :) Anyway, mummy says I borned to be pampered *LOL* so no need so many tricks...just enjoy my life :D

I hate swimming!
Mummy thought that all doggies love to swim,but not me. I hate it! Maybe because I'm scared of the water. They tried to carry me and hold on to me while I paddle but i just refused to swim. When mummy tried to lower me into the water, I behaved like a cat, no kidding. I clinged on to her and the lower she go, the higher I climbed. Daddy swear that if mummy tries to go any lower, I will be sitting on her head real soon. So they tried to trick me into going into the water. They ran and make me chase them and into the water they went. And luckily I had on very good tyres, they stopped just before I even reached the waves :D So they can't trick me into the water :) And although most dogs are free to run around in Sentosa, I have to be on leash all the time. Reason? I won't respond to them once I'm outside as I'm too excited and I'll run away and they'll never catch me. So the only places that I can be off leash are pet cafes.

Don't think by buying me a new vest I will swim with u.

Christmas day!
Merry X"mas. Dun say it's too late cos there are 12 days of christmas :D I had grilled chicken thigh and some grilled beef cooked medium rare *yumyum* Needless to say, I finished the 1st round and went on to round 2 of my meal :)

Excessive loss of blood!! *horrors*

Well it happened during my spay. Dr Ng called mummy to say that I lost quite a lot of blood compared to the normal op but not to worry as they have stopped the bleeding. I have to be on drip and fur on my legs are shaved. 1st they inserted the drip into my left leg but being the stubborn me *giggles* how can I let you poke me without giving up a fight. So I chewed and pulled on the drip and they have no choice but to remove it. And they tried my right leg. he same thing happened and they give up. No drip :D BUT to prevent me from biting and licking te wound, they put "The Cone of Shame" on me!! I absolutely Hate it with a capital H. And so I pushed and pushed the cone away from my head. I want to get my head out of that trumpet. In the midst of trying to remove it myself, my paw got stucked in between. >.<>

Porridge day @ Tiong Bahru

Met up with Sydney for porridge breakfast (for the humans that is). Saltee & Vinnie supposed to meet us as well but they can't make it in the end. It was such a tiring day. We had porridge at Tiong Bahru (compliments of Sydney's grandparents), proceed to have dessert @ Robertson Quay and then to Vivo for grooming. Slept like a log on the way home.

Porridge time! See? Sydney KO @ Robertson Quay liao. The humans throw us for grooming while they went shopping I KO-ed on the way home. Too tired to care about sleeping position.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On a seperate note, mummy & daddy went to watch F1 leaving me at home :(

Nika: Met Sydney for breakfast and walk in botanic gardens. It was such a hot day but we enjoyed walking around.

Need less to say, I KO-ed on the way home. Xiaobai is so sweet,hug me to sleep. I can sleep any style I want once we reach home :D

Impromptu meeting at Holland V

Nika: Daddy & mummy decided to bring me to Holland V for a walk on Friday night. So she asked along Sydney,DoMo and Cobi. It's just an impromptu meet up and it's my 1st time seeing them (other then Sydney). Among the 4 dachshunds, Dodo is the eldest followed by Momo. But Momo is the smallest size among us :) They are all so well behaved and quiet. Not like me, keep on barking and wanting to play. Maybe I really do need lessons. As usual there was a lot of butt sniffing once we saw each other. After the gathering ended and we're on the way to the carpark, I kept chasing after Sydney and still want to play more. So mummy carried me over to sniff and kiss her good night. And I did a very naughty thing which caused mummy to "shoot" and slap my mouth :( I bit Sydney's ear and she screamed. I'm very sorry Sydney...I promised not to play so rough again. Luckily she is alright. *Bad notti me*

Nika: Blogger has been bonkers again and I can't update. Today I will show you my secret stash :p

After we moved house, I claimed a drawer all to myself to keep my treats :D Have not yet post up pics of my new house but it will come...eventually.

Mummy is into "healthier", natural treats for me. Aside from the occasional apples that I get, I get healthier meaty and fruity treats too! I got a lamb's bone to try out too! It was my 1st time and I'm such an amateur at eating the bone, not to mention that mummy is so afraid that I'm going to dirty the whole house, draging the bone everywhere. So to help me conquer the bone, daddy held on to it while I try to munch.

oolong cha: See the cigeratte box hanging there? This is really an example of retro! Someone from upstairs wanted to buy a pack of cigerattes but lazy to go down. What will he do?

Ans: He lowers a small rope with a clothes peg containing money and a note. The coffeeshop uncle sees the box,walks over and opens it. Takes the money and note and attaches a new pack of cigerattes to the peg. The guy pulls his purchase up. Wala! Fast and convenient. :DNika: I have not been in here for so long because blogger is bonkers. So I have to wait till I have the feel before I come in here to update you peeps on what is going on.

We celebrated Sydney's birthday at K9 on a friday noon when the cafe is not packed and we can run all we want. It's the 1st time that I'm meeting Sydney too. She is a runner and jumper like me! Saltee and Vinnie were there too but they did not run around much. It was not so much of a birthday,more like a gathering with cake :D I just ate 2 mouthfuls of the cake and Sydney ate 3 slices!

Sydney: Is it time to eat? The next day, Sydney's parents "dumped" her at my house and the happily went for dinner at IMM. I kept following her wherever she went in order to protect my territory. I was so naughty that night,kept on barking at her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Nika: This is what I do when I'm being left alone at home...even if it's just for 10mins. Shred! Shred! Destroy! Tear! Wahahahaha!! This will teach you all to leave me alone while you go out :p Oh, did I mention that daddy's credit card is also a victim of my powerful jaws. Another lesson for daddy: never leave anything important where I can reach :D

Nika: We went to vivo for a walk by the sea after dinner. This pack of caramel chocs is from daddy to mummy as a surprise in appreciation for her home cooked meals.

Nika: Mummy and daddy says that my body is too long and I'm afraid of dirtying myself. Hence I always do not dare to go up all the way to the pee tray,therefore they got me a bigger tray so that I have more space to pee.

oOlong cHa: Too lazy to update. 7th July is our ROM date and MJ's memorial service. It's still so unreal that he is gone,a legend. I do love his dance moves so much. Luckily I got his #1 Hits album VCD a few years back,if I were to find it now, I doubt it's available. I have also his "The Essentials" cd album which is just out not long ago. Comprises of 2 cds with his more popular songs when he just started with The Jackson 5. A pity I missed his memorial service last night.

Yesterday on the way home, saw this car. Think he might have crashed into the center railing. His car is on fire. There are those kpos as well,being singaporean. If i were them, I will get away fast in case the car explode.

Ok, I've been real lazy to update. And this entry will all be just words and words...lazy to load pics.

1) Hubby is back from japan. Did not get a lot of things as not enough time to shop and I prefer to shop myself. He got Nika a small fun blanket the size of a hanky. It has squeakers sewn into the blankets so when they bite it will give little squeaks. But the squeakers is a bit difficult to squeak. It's those plastic squeakers that you find inside toys so the material is not very durable. He got me a battery-operated piggy bank, a tote bag from Trullis Coffee, 2 tank tops from Uniqlo and a toy. :D

2) Mum is back after 3months in US and 4 days in Taiwan. She is starting to have her giddy spells again. will make an appointment for her to go for check up again.

Nika: My purchases are here! Although my birthday is not until August, I can get myself an early pressie right :) I chose what I want and using mummy's card, I got them from the net. With permission of cos. I got a "Buddy Belt". It's a leather harness made with we,dachies in mind :D It won't cause any strain on the neck and is comfortable to use, even if we have long beautiful hair, it won't cause tangles. Of cos, any breed can use it, not only dachies. So what are you guys waiting for? Nika: Mummy and daddy brought me to the vet to check on my ears as I keep scratching and keep licking and chewing on my paws. They suspected that I maight have fungal infection or mites. After the check, it turns out to be just an allergy reaction. There's construction going on and the dust makes me itchy. Whew! And I thought that I'm allergic to chicken-my favourite food. I am such a good girl at the vet. Did not even fidget when Dr Ang jab me :D

Daddy: That's because you're too scared to move

Nika: Got to use ear drops again which I hate! Trip to the vet cost another $54...

Nika: Mummy brought me to K9 Kafe today! It has been such a long time since I am allowed to go out due to my heat. I'm going crazy staying home. But there wasn't any doggies to play with me that day. After that we went to USDB to pick up my meal and I had a great time there playing with the water fountain and "posing" in the magazine rack for pics :) Mummy had a good time chatting with aunty Nelly as well and she is discussing with aunty Nelly to leave me in her shop for free daycare service. Hmph! I got a lamb pie for breakfast and cheese and lamb steak for dinner :)

oolong cha: Took leave today hoping to settle some furniture purchase and to see the reno of our

new house. It's just tiring to try sofas and look for furniture. It's fun at 1st but after some time, you'll get very tired of seeing the same things over and over again. And it's NEVER fun when the bills start to come. We did not take reno loan as we did not want to pay the interest. So everything is cash cash cash. So we are broke broke broke. Can't go shopping, can't go for nice food,, can only save money :( Sad. But it'll get better...always look on the bright side of life. :D

Anyway,we finally decide on our sofa, tv console and coffe table. Whew! All in 1 store @ Novena Furniture in Sungei Kadut. Think we got a good deal, console + coffee table + sofa (3+2)=$ 2570. Finally 3 items down. Next is dining set...v difficult as we are only looking at round table. Knights if the round table keke. To upkeep the secrecy till house warming, I will only show the before pics and no description on what we are going to do to the house :p

Was lucky I was working that day and hence did not go down. This horrible accident happened. In my opinion, the husky's owner should have used a head collar to control his dog. It was adopted not long ago and should spend more time to know more about his temperament 1st. Hope that the CHH will be alright and the husky won't be up for adoption again.

Nika scratched till her ear got a bit of blood. Applied lavender essential oil to help soothe it. We clean her ears everyday but she still scratch

oolong cha: I'm going to heck care about my fugly legs. Heck the scars and obvious visible ingrown hairs, heck the stares of people, heck my lack of confidence, heck that I have low self esteem cos of my legs, I'm going to wear shorts! I've always wore 3/4, jeans or long berms to cover as much leg as possible. But the weather these days are horrible. I'm going to start wearing shorts....I hope I can get over my own self confidence barrier.

oolong cha: something happened yesterday that left me traumatised...the image is etched in my mind....scary...unexpected...think I need to see a psychiatrist soon...or maybe admit myself to IMH to calm down...

so what exactly happened? it was nothing actually,I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. oh, you all wanna know what happened? well here goes....I SAW A BODY FALL 1 STOREY DOWN!! JUST NEXT TO ME!! I was in the office and from my seat I can see the interior of the buliding quite clearly. from the side of my eye I saw this guy climb over the escalator railing (the escalator is always closed as people take the lifts), I don't know why he climbed over or he just bent over but the next thing I knew, I saw his body fall down. followed by a sickening loud THUD! my 1st reaction was: shit,someone died in here, what am I going to do?? then I heard him call out "help...help me.." but I was just too afraid to go and look. so I called the security. by the time they answered the phone, the hotel's manager were at the scene followed by ambulance and police. I took a peek and saw his legs and a pool of blood and did not dare to venture any further to avoid any more images. the image of the body falling is enough to last me till my whole life. as I'm the only eye witness to the "fall", the police interviewed me. luckily the boy is stable now. 14yr old only.

Today is my outing to expo for SKC dog show again . So happy. But before that, we went to a dog shelter to donate off my can food and treats. 36 cans + bag full of treats as I can't finish so many. The doggies there are so poor thing, abandoned by their owners or have been previously used for breeding. Peeps out there, if you want to get a doggie, adopt 1 from the shelters. Let the poor doggies have a new lease of life. The volunteer that we met up with told mummy that there is a mini dachshund that looks like me that is waiting to be adopted. But can see from daddy's face that he is not going to get another doggie :( I hope that the poor doggies will be happy when they receive my treats. Will make more donation to them again. Think will give them some soft toys to chew next time. Keep them entertained so that they'll not get into fights. There was a fight shortly after we went down and a funny doggie peed on daddy. Outing at expo. Lots of butt sniffing going on and not a lot of pictures to show. Oh at the last dog show, we saw this girl with her butch bf and their dog, think its a long hair CHH. The girl is wearing super short shorts...more like a bikini bottom. It's denim and it has been cut like a "V" shape front and back. The back show 1/2 her butt and her front follows her thigh "V" shape so it's like wearing a bikini bottom. Today she wore the same shorts as well. But that is not the horrible part. I'm gettting to it now...her dog is PINK!! Faint!! Not some parts pink but the whole dog is pink. Poor doggie...Mummy did not snap a picture as she's too disgusted by it.

On the way back just as we are leaving the carpark, mummy suddenly got panicky and told daddy to pass her some tissue paper and to stop the car. I was suddenly bleeding from the mouth. she pryed open and I spit out a tooth. I thought that my milk teeth were all out?? Does that mean that I won't grow back another tooth? But my usual tooth dropping does not bleed as much, this time, it was really a lot.

Nika: Mummy got her weekend off today so we're going to K9!! Supposed to meet DoMo as well but their parent is not feeling well so left Sora, Billie Jean, Cookie and me :) But it was great fun too. The only thing is that the cafe is totally full!! Gosh! We had to sit at the outdoor area to wait for a table and it was no fun. I prefer to be indoors where I can run around. By the time we reach home, I was totally over and out. Did not even had dinner and I vomitted gastric juice just because I refused to eat. :( But I went to dinner with the humans, leaving mummy alone at home as she was too tired. She woke up at 8am to go to the market to get some food to cook for me, made pasta and eggs as breakfast for daddy, mine is scrambled eggs with chicken and bell peppers :) After breakfast is green bean soup and then to prepare to go to K9. No wonder she is pooped out. And as usual lazy daddy did not give a hand at all. Just give a mouth to eat HMPH!

Although the cafe is packed, I had great fun! It was so nice to see Sora again although he keep trying ot "rape" me *blush* Billie Jean have such a nice coat and color and Cookie have beautiful eyes. I love them all! I just wish that it wasn't so packed so that we can run around more. Weekdays perhaps would be more suitable for me. Till next time guys!! Nika: I went for my basic groom at Vivo today. Daddy picked mummy after work and off we go to Vivo. I was very moody the whole day,maybe it's due to PMS? Hmm do doggies have PMS before their heat too? 2 more weeks and I'm going to be 9mths and no signs of my heat yet. Vinnie,who is the same age as me,is already on her 1st heat. Guess I'm a late bloomer but it's ok, I wanna enjoy my puppyhood and don't wanna grow up so fast. I want to be Peter Pan like mummy! As usual,they bought some of my favourite treats from Burp! I respond to food rewards aka positive training and not the hard way,so no choke chains for me,do not train me the hard way. I am a stubborn girl :D Mummy also bought flaxseed oil for me from GNC. It's supposed to be good for my skin and fur :)

After we got home,the humans decide to let me try on my diapers to let me get used to it 1st. I totally hate it!! I kept biting it off,think it won't last 1/2hr on me. But do I have a choice once my heat is here? I keep biting it off and only run around when I saw a treat in daddy's hand. But after eating the treat,it's back to biting the diapers off time!! GrrrrFlaxseed oil from GNC. Mummy hopes that I will still eat my food if she mix this in. I am afterall, a super fussy eater :)))Smoked chicken breast strips. *Thumbs up*Chicken dumbell with rice. Nika: Mummy's got the day off! Thank you auntie Sandra for covering mummy's duty. *lick lick* To let me have a feel of urban life, mummy, daddy and auntie Michelle brought me to Orchard road :) We reached around 10.30am but the weather was sickening hot and sticky so we went to K9 Kafe! My favourite place!! There were few doggies there to run with me too! After our K9 meal, we picked up Droka to go to our house to play with me. But I was so barky that mummy keep scolding me. :( But it was an enjoyable Labour Day for me :))) I was totally pooped out when we reached home.

Boat Asia 2009, toys for the rich. Weather can kill, imagine being at the marina from 11.30-9pm with only a tentage to shelter you from the scorching sun. Lucky me, I found refuge in the cool comfort of the boat :) Hide in the cabin,away from the crowd, enjoying my ice cream and take an occasional walk around. It's quite fun also actually,a nice change from being in the office the whole day. Quite difficult to take nice picture as you have to experience the cabin and boats yourself. Friday 17/04/09

Mummy & daddy are both home today! The weather was too hot to go anywhere so they brought me to mummy's favourite place-K9 Kafe. Aircon, nice food for them and me, doggies to play with. But there was a kindergarden excursion going on and the cafe was filled with kids. When we reached, there was a mini schnauzer, a collie, a brichon frise. The collie is like the resident dog there,his name is Nick and he ate up all my pizzas :( He just stand on the table and gobbled them :( so mummy went to get 1 more plate for me. shortly after that,the kids start to arrive and the doggies went off as it was too crowded. I did not get to run around after that. Mummy is afraid I might get stepped upon. Before we left, mummy got me some cookies to share with Rosco tomorrow. There's pandan,banana and mint. Yummy!

Saturday 18/04/09

Mummy went to a wedding lunch today and left me alone with daddy. Daddy is no fun at all,just like to lie down and do nothing. The most he run 2 rounds with me and will KO. not like mumm who like to run around with me until I'm tired. Anyway,after she came home,we prepared to go to West Coast Dog Run. Supposed to meet Rosco gor-gor but his mummy had to work last minute so we went alone. It was my 1st time there and I'm so overwhelmed by all the 4-legged friends there! There are so many and all of them run off leash. Mummy did not dare to unleash me as I will run and not respond to her after that. But after a while, she decided to let me off leash. I felt so free but under the constant watchful eyes of hers. I ran around for a while and ran after this jap spitz when it snapped at me and I screamed. That was the end of my leash-less day.

Sentosa day!! Mummy woke up at 820am to prepare our stuff for outing. After all is done,she has to wait for daddy to wake up before we can go. Reached there about 1045am. Nice weather but very hot. I was persuaded to go into the water to swim but I refused. But after much persuasion,I took the courage to jump in and swim. Then suddenly this big wave hit me and I went lop sided and was so traumatized I did not dare to enter the water again. I kepy whining and jumping up to mummy to carry me away,even jumping on her back. Anything just to stay away from the waves. Daddy keep saying that I'm spoilt by mummy but mummy herself is also spoilt. She say that she won't bring me to Sentosa again, scared of sun and getting dirty. Suits me fine,I prefer K9 anyway. We are the pampered girls :p You go girl!

They have decided to go to Holland V as it's a dog friendly place and more place for me and Droka to move around. Dessert was at Cold Rock. Nika: Mummy brought me to K9 Kafe today. Meet up with Saltee & Vinnie! But where are the pictures??? She was too busy eating that she never take any picture of us. Hmph! It was nice meeting them for the 1st time, and it won't be the last :D Saltee is afraid of big dogs, so cute. Vinnie is so friendly and loves kissing everyone. And Saltee and Vinnie's mummy is so hot! Makes my mummy look so auntie (which she already is)!

Nika: Mummy's friend is migrating to UK today. She feels so sad that her good friend is not coming back. Only coming back once a year, and I'm gonna miss Dumdum. No more dates at Yishun dam with him. Nika vomitted in the car just now. She was making this strange gurgling sound and looks like she trying to get something out from her throat. And then "gwauuuk" out came the stuff. Luckily it's juz 1 lump and not watery. I think that after eating her breakfast,she keep jumping and running. And we took her out for a car ride. It's the 1st time it happened. Hope it's the last time.

Nika: Mummy got me a new house yesterday. She bought it from a forumer as her doggies did not want to sleep in it. It's so big and new! Thank you to them for not wanting to sleep inside. Woof! But everything has to go through my QC to make sure that it is suitable for me. So here goes the QC. Arrruuff~thick enough to bite. Passed.

Both sides are equal in thickness. Passed. Walls can be removed to have more room. Passed.I'm happy in my new house :D

Videos to show that I have already checked the house. Walls do not crumble even under my loud barking. House does not come apart even after pulling, dragging, digging and pouncing on. Passed!

Nika's clothes

Nika: Daddy & Mummy argued yesterday. I witnessed the whole incident and I personally think it's Daddy's fault. Let me tell you why. Normally when Mummy is off,she will cook dinner for his family as well as me :) And Daddy usually reaches home at 6.20-6.30pm, and Mummy will still be cooking her last dish when he reach home. so yesterday,Mummy took the effort to cook earlier so that the hungry caveman (Daddy) can eat once he is home. Everything is ready by 6.20pm except my food,I usually eat at aound 6.30-6.45pm. Clock shows 6.30pm and Daddy is still not home. Clock is spoilt? The phone rings.

Daddy: I'm at Bukit Batok on the way back now.

Mummy:What are you doing there?

Daddy: I send my colleague to Bt Batok MRT.
Mummy: You very free ah? I cook earlier today so that you can eat once home and now 6.30pm you tell me you at Bt Batok.

Daddy: Very near our house,just a turn only.

Mummy: I'm very busy now,no time to talk to you.

So when Daddy reaches home he went on to explain that Mummy told him to buy Marmite and he can't find it that's why he reach home at 7.10pm,when all the food has turned cold and I've already finished my food. Mummy said that she don't want to argue over dinner so end of discussion. Oh and I need to add that to the fire, Daddy "stole" Mummy's egg for dinner and she did not even get a bite, only ate the yolk and the WHOLE egg was gone....into Daddy's mouth. Oops!

After dinner we went to Holland Village for a walk and bought new treat for me AGAIN!! YAyyyy!!! But by Daddy this time. and also dry shampoo.

When we're back home, they suddenly got this idea to take pictures of me in my clothes. not that I have many,only 2 to be precise, but they just like it. Duhhh~ Daddy was the photographer and a Poor one at that. Took my head without my clothes OR my whole body without showing the words on my clothes. Anyway he's a bad photographer. Oh and a lazy one also,not that it's related but he is just lazy. Anyway the clothes are too big for me, gonna grow fatter before I can wear them out.

Enough of your nonsence humans! I'm entitled to my rest also hor!

Psst Daddy, Mummy knows that you send a girl girl colleague to Bt Batok yesterday. Not that she minds, your colleagues are not pretty at all. None of them. But you lied to her before, you said that your company do not have any young ladies, only aunties and on the company trip what did she found out? Only 1 auntie! The rest are...so do not lie or keep anything from Mummy, better tell her then keep it from her. she won't be happy...just like the last time you went to Geylang to eat and you keep it from her...she won't be happy...just tell the truth lah.

Oolong Cha-I want to say that Hubby's colleagues are officially in my boycott list liao (except for a handful). Why hor?

#1) They gave a bad impression during the company trip.

~While doing a headcount b4 going to the hotel, tour guide finds a few missing. so everyone waited while they count and tally again. Suddenly the organiser jumps up and say they went to the hotel themselves and we need not wait 4 them. Duhh?? Why don't you say in the 1st place instead of making everyone wait around.

~They "stole" ice cream. At this tourist place when all of us have to pass the shop when we leave, this couple was hovering over the refrigerator. There wasn't anyone around so we did not buy anything and went out and waited outside to leave. After a while, 1 of the staff from the shop came out with an ice cream wrapper in her hands and spoke to the tour guide. He said that SOMEONE took the ice cream without paying and left the wrapper on the shelf. While obviously it's the couple as there were many witnesses that they ate ice cream, including me. Hubby was still defending them saying that they forgot to pay. OH PUHLESSS spare me that crap!

#2) Hubby and I are supposed to go back to my house for dinner as well as my nephew's birthday. Then 1 day before that, he said that he is going to have dinner with his colleagues instead. I was like WHAT??? He promised me. His EXCUSE was that he always missed out in their dinner gatherings and that they will talk about him and he have to PR if not he will have no friends in the company. ??? DUHHH~ We have a family dinner to attend and if they're so childish to talk about not joining them and etc then be it! And I would like to add in that so far this is only the 2nd dinner gathering that they have organised.

Hubby wil not feel good after reading this post but I don't care. I've already told him and he knows what I don't like about them. I do things in the open. Don't like, just say. Not pleased with me? Then we'll have a talk.

2nd pair of cult jeans

I got my 2nd pair of cult jeans :) My 1st was 7-for-all-mankind and my 2nd is from Rock & Republic ($499). It was a new arrival so no discount for it :( But I still love it. After wearing cult jeans, you'll feel that Levi's is too nahhh. Stiff after washing and not that comfy,whereas for cult jeans, it'll remain soft to wear even after washing and you can be sure that not everyone has the same jeans as you. Not that common lah. My only grumble for my R&R is that it's way too long and I'm too lazy to go and alter it so up to now have not yet had a chance to wear it *hmph* I must have the determination to go to the tailor's...at Far East...lazy. Had lunch with dajie and mum at My Humble House. The food there is yummy and resonably priced. After lunch dajie went back to work so me and mum continued shopping. Got a pair of flats for work.Finally got myself a pair of shoes. Hope it won't give me any blisters,I've got sensitive feet. Relaxed at TCC for cake and coffee and went to have a look at furniture. I found my bed! Serta mattress,king size,latex material :) Price is $4040 for the queen size latex foam,includes 2x memory pillow, 2x normal pillows, 2x mattress protector, 2x mattress cover and also includes the sheep! Forgot to ask the price for the king size. OK, hubby is going to faint when he sees the price, but this is a life time investment mah and my mum say she's going to give to us,I think. It's just so comfy! Awww

Brought the dogs (Nika & DumDum) to Urban Pooch @ Balestier but it was CLOSED!! It's supposed to be open everyday till 10pm. As usual Nika barked non-stop when she saw DumDum. Want to play,run up and bark and run away duhh~ Decided to go to Miss Clarity @ Upp Thomson,reached there and guess what? It had closed down!! ??? Lucky there's a Hong Kong cafe there which allowed us to bring the dogs. Food is cheap,not very delicious but still can do. After that went to Yishun dam to let them run around. Whew~really exercise for us too. I was in my work clothes but luckily wearing flats.

Went for our flat selection today. We got our 1st choice,9th floor, nearest to market & hawker center & bus-stop. Now is the BIG project, Saving up. :(

Yayyy~I get to use the pc as mummy & daddy was bad to me today. Ok,not that bad but to me,they are bad enough. They went to select their flat today at this very crowded place,with lots of people walking around. They get to enjoy the air-con while I have to wait outside as I'm not allowed in. Hmph! I'm such a cute little doggie,everyone says so,so why can't I go in. Anyway,I'm quite contented waiting outside as everyone who walk pass me will go "Oh what a cute dog,so cute". :p Kiss the ground that I walk on humans! Hehe! After lunch we went home,boy wasn't I tired. I K.O the moment i touch the cushion.

Mummy & Daddy:No you did not! You bark for us to pat you to sleep before you doze off.

Let's just ignore what they just said and continue. It's MY turn to use the pc anyway. After dinner I went to the vet for my 4th jab. I recognise the place even before we enter. I was moving about,trying to struggle out of the room before the gentle vet poke me with her needle again. This time she looked into my ear and boy,did I scream out loud. I let out a ear-piercing scream that had all of them in shock. The same scream I gave when the groomer uncle poked into my ear. I was told that my ear was a bit dirty inside and it's very difficult to clean as it is really right inside. Miss Vet gave mummy and daddy this bottle to poke into my ears everyday to clean it. Good luck cleaning my ears. Ok,I'm tired and I'm logging off now. Till next time all my fans.

Keke! We made a booking at Firefly as there is the live band playing cantopop. Like what my youngest sis said "We have to cater to the elderly" Duhhh. It was really a family outing. Let's see who's present: Mum + 3 of us + my sis's bf, Aunt Honey + son, daughter and son-in-law, Aunt Jenny, Aunt Ginny, Aunt Ah-Lai + daughter and son-in-law, 3 cousins + 1 husband=18 of family members! Wowo! And also the bday celebration of the 3 sisters: my mum and 2 aunts. One after the other, 28,29 and 30 January. Met up with the girls for dinner at Kushin-bo! My 1st time there and the food is yummy. Enjoyed the part where the bell rang and everyone had to rush to queue for the special item. So fun! We had a wonderful and full dinner. Next meet up will be a post V-day celebration. Till then, take care 38s!

We decided to have our reunion dinner outside this year. Booked a table at Spring Court at 7pm. Present at the dinner were: Mummy, Dajie, Michelle, 2 nephews, Hubby, my 2 god brothers, maid and of cos, yours truly. We were deciding between the $368 set or the $688 set. We wanted to have suckling pig to add on and the lather set has that, so we decided to have that instead. Run-down of the menu is as follows:
1) Yu-Sheng (standard course in every set. Fish was pathetic, paper thin slices)
2) Superior sharksfin with bean sprouts. Yummy!
3) Suckling pig!
4) Boiled prawns
5) Deep fried soon hock
6)Vegetables with assorted mushroom and abalone.
7) Fried ee-fu noodles
8) Red bean paste

Took pictures of the dishes until in the middle of the course where I totally forgot about taking pictures. Will upload later once I get the pics from my sis.

Nika: Mummy mummy, daddy opened my CNY snack!

Daddy: She did not eat her breakfast and I was afraid that she'll be hungry *blush* so I gave her 1x chicken stick

Soooo fed-up with hubby. Always give Nika treats cos she don't eat her food. That's why she's used to it. Her thinking is "if I don't eat my food, daddy will give me treats". I've told him so many times before,no food means no treats to be given. She have to eat at least 1/2 of her meal before you can give her treats, now it has become a habit to her. Fed-up. Get it in your head cow! Told you so many times before. And still dare say I spoil her.

Nika got this dandruff on her forehead, looks like she got dry skin, and it is only on her head, her body is fine. Brought her to Vivo again. I just love it there, I spend my whole day there! Anyway, according to the vet, she is lacking in Vitamin A and Zinc and duno what so he recommended me the vitamin that she should take. Cost about $36 for 48 tablets. She is supposed to take 1/2 tablet daily. Of cos I got it without thinking so much of the cost, it really isn't that expensive and anything for my baby, although I have already spent A LOT on her. Hubby was complaining that I keep spending on her. Hmph! On top of her vitamin, I also bought :

~Mother Hubbard's Chicken Pot Pie for her CNY dinner. We are eating good food, why can't she too? For a change :p

Bought Nika back to "niang jia"today. She was so excited, no cage for the whole day :D I'm happy for her too! She was so active but finally made up her mind to sleep at 11.30pm. So happily I tried to sleep also but at 12.30am, I heard her waking up. In the middle of the night! Nika, don't you need to sleep at all??

Zzzz, had to persuade her and coax her to sleep and finally went back to sleep at 2.30am. Boy, wasn't I tired. Whew! And have to get up at 7am to prepare her food. xx@#%&**@XX$#@&

As I've promised, today is Nika's day out! After looking online for a dog cafe, I finally decided on US Dog Bakery located around Turf city. They are the !st and only bakery to be approved by AVA :) Met up with Vivie and her bf as well. The place is called k9-Kmpus and they have a bakery, cafe, groomer, doggie spa, doggie class and hotel, pool and playground for both kids and our fur babies. What more can we ask for? A perfect place to chill with our darlings :D Anyway, back to topic. It's our 1st time there and went to have a look at the food for Nika. The available variety wasn't a lot and according to the owner, they have different types of cookies but you have to make advance order, at least 1 day so they can prepare for you. And they are real friendly too. I ordered chicken quiche for Nika and we proceeded to the cafe for our own meal. There was this couple with their dog as well, Sasha. Well I was carrying Nika and you know her, real excited and wanted to play with Sasha. Keep whining and barking to be allowed to get down. No choice but to let her run free. Think that they are quite happy to be playing together. Well the food was good, service was friendly and resonable pricing as well. Ok, I'm a bit lazy to blog, Nika shall take over from here.

Oh boy I'm so excited! Mummy brought me out today to this cafe that sells OUR food. She ordered this eggy pie with chicken for me. Oh and also bought me cookies! You know she really can't resist buying my stuff cos I'm just sooooo cute and lovable, I'm just Mummy's and Daddy's angel!

When we reach the place with human food to eat, there was this dog there. Oooo I wanted to play with her but mummy just would not let me get off her arms. So I struggled, and twist and turned and whined and barked until she had no choice but to let me run free :D

Me and Sasha chased each other and nipped a bit here and there. Mummy was so scared, we're just playing, don't worry. By the way, the eggy pie was warm and such a change from my usual canned food and kibbles. Did I mentioned my cookies? There are 5 different flavors: lychee, pineapple, mango, peanut and strawberry. We went to this pool that is for us, furbabies. But I'm not allowed to swim yet. Overheard Mummy saying to bring me to this beach place once I'm fully vaccined. Oh boy! Can't wait! Then there's this playground for us as well. I was made to walk on this plank that goes up and then goes back down. Why would I want to go up and down again when I can just walk stright to my destination? Humans. Tsk tsk. So I refused to walk and Mummy have no choice but to carry me again. Ahhh what a good life I have. After that we went back to the cafe and I saw this HUGE dog!! Black labrador with shiny fur. He really has a good life, absorb all vitamins until he got such a shiny coat. As you can guess, I was not allowed to go over to that HUGE dog. But don't know what happened, 1 min I was on the chair, the next I'm on the floor. I'm not going to give up this chance of checking out my new friend. His tail is as big as me!! Wow! Before we left, I was forced to take a picture with him. HMPH! I was curious but afraid as well but Rocco (labrador) just ignored me totally. Hmph! I'm not sweet enough for him?? Bleah! Thank you all my friends for making my 1st cafe visit not my last! Thank you Sasha, Sam and Rocco. Hope to see you again.

Next up we went to the groomer's. Keep hearing that my nails are too long, need to trim. It's my 1st time too! He tied me to this table while Mummu and Daddy stood outside to wait for me. I was enjoying looking around when he suddenly stuffed this thing into my ear. I gave out his ear splitting YELP! I totally hate to clean my ears. But I don't think that Daddy cared about me. I was on this table being tortured by this man and Daddy was busy taking video of this maltese in the corner doing a "Gong Xi Gong Xi" action. I'm not happy with you Daddy.

anyway the whole groom session was not that bad except for the ear cleaning part, showering part when he stuck his finger up my arse, the noisy blow dryer which scare the hell out of me. I still considered myself lucky compared to poor Mr Yorkie. He had his fur shaved bald and was left standing there, shivering. Poor Mr Yorkie. I came out feeling clean and had soft, shiny fur :D

I went for my 1st car wash today and boy, was I scared stiff. I remember lying in mummy's arms when suddenly there's this loud splash on the car! I was about to jump off the car seat when mummy hugged me tighter and cuddled me more, all the while talking to me and assuring that everything is ok. Next there was this bubbles flowing down the car and SPLASH! I'm not going to stay in mummy's arms for another minute! I jumped off her arms and hid in a corner, all the while trembling despite her cuddling, patting and reassuring voice. I was so glad that it's over. Now that I've experienced my 1st car wash, I don't think I will be in a hurry to go to my next.

Ok, it’s been more than a month and now then I’ve start to talk about Her. Who on earth is this She? Hmm She’s vain, loves attention, greedy, pampered, hairy, mischievous, crafty blah blah… But above all, I LOVE HER LOTS!! Hehe! Presenting Nika-my mini dachshund :D From Australia, loves chewing, loves treats, loves belly rubs, loves to tease you.

It’s been long, long times since I’ve want a dog. But you do know that this is not toy, it’s a life time commitment. So before everything, I need to prepare myself mentally. What did I do? I got a book on dachshunds! Read it through and make sure that I fully understand their character and I DO WANT a dachshund instead of other breeds. But why the Weiner dog? Because

#1) They are not as common as shih tzus, maltese, schnauzers, Chihuahuas, JRT. No offense here to anyone.
#2) Their short legs, long body, doe eyes just make you go awww.
#3) They have 3 types of coat to choose from.
#4) The best reason above all: it’s MY dog and I like dachshund. Period.

Ok, after reading up and mentally preparing myself, we look around pet shops to compare and hopefully to find one that really catches my eye and can connect with me. Finally after 2 months or more, can’t remember, I found her! It was at Ericsson Pet farm and there the sweet little girl is. Quietly lying in the corner. It was on my birthday that we went down and I got myself a birthday gift J After some bargaining, we managed to bring her home at $2675. Very pricey for a puppy but you know you want her. Did i mention that there is still here food, accessories, vitamins, grooming tools, toys etc etc. Lets just make it simpler by saying that I have to give up my Chanel bag to have her :/

We did not bring her home immediately as there are preparations to make. Where to put her, tidy up the house, mentally prepare again. 1 week later, we went to fetch her home. What a sweet little girl she is. You can tell that she is just so afraid of her surroundings once out of the cage. She kept trembling and I have to pat her and talk to her to soothe her nerves.
Day 1 passed quite well with a bit of whining from her. Think day 3 onwards, the monster in her is out! Maybe I pampered her too much. There’s just too much to say about her, let’s just put it as a love-hate relationship with her.

Was planning to get my Oakleys for such a long time and finally decided and made up my mind that I am getting them today. Wendt to Queensway Shopping centre with hubby and Max for dinner and shades shopping. After checking out several shops and trying few pairs in other brands as well, we decided on our Oakleys at last. So at last, hubby and me each got our pair of Oakleys. Not v ex too, $500 for both :)

Cousins day outing! Well supposed to be cousins day but end up 5 of us only. Nevertheless, we went to have steamboat on a cold night at AMK central. Yumyum. Variety wasn't a lot but the price was quite cheap. $12.90 nett. Oh, and there's only 3 soup base to choose from-chicken, tom yum and porridge.

Going to Bali today for company trip from 24-27th Nov. My flight is at 7.20pm so I have to check-in at 5.20pm. My boss is very "atas", will only take SIA, so we get to enjoy as well. But the amenities onboard wasn't so good. The inflight entertainment kept having problems and my show kept stopping and I can't even play games. Zzzz. Touched down in Bali at around 9.20pm and after gathering, went straight to our humble stay for the rest of the trip-Conrad Hotel.

Today's 1st program is river rafting. After a full breakfast, we took a 2-hr ride to our rafting destination. 9 Suzuki SUVs were waiting for us at the hotel's entrance to take us there. After the briefing and collection of life jackets and paddles,off we go to start rafting! But in order to reach our rafts, we have to take a 15mins walk down a never-ending flight of uneven, stone steps. Whew! By the time we reach our rafts at the bottom, most of us are experiencing muscle aches and shivery, jelly-legs even before we start rafting. I did not buy a water-proof camera and so fail to capture all the scenes. A pity if u ask me. It was of cos my 1st time rafting and due to my in experience, I earned myself a big bruise on my knee. The water was cold, i'm not used to cold waters. But other then the cold water, the bruise, the bumpy ride, it was a wonderful experience. Oh, I need to mention that I had muscle ache in my legs for the days to come. I can't walk down steps and getting on and off the coach was a gigantic task for me. I literally had to pull myself up and drag myself down the steps.

Dinner was at this fine dining restaurant by the sea. We had alfresco dining which I think was a bad idea as it might rain any moment. By company's "policy", every newbie who enters the company will not escape from their drinking party. So we had a "newbie" table specially catered for us and they ordered ALL the wine and liquor at the restaurant. And I mean ALL. There was red and white wine, vodka, chivas, whiskey etc. You can't escape at all. If you don't drink up then you can't sit down. Their eyes will follow your glass till it's empty. So in order to escape from being drunk, you have to drink smart :) I had vodka and once they walked away to fill other glasses, I poured water into my vodka to dilute it. Ok, vodka + water taste horrible but no choice. I have only water on the table at that time. Next up, wine for all. This time you have to really drain your glass as boss was there to make you finish before you sit down. Wine has to be savoured slowly and not at one shot, it taste horrible that way. So a few gulps of wine, a mouthful of water, few gulps of wine, plain water, until I feel that wine is really so yucky. But after like so many gulps, I still have 1/2 glass left! What to do?? Luckily boss got called to another table and we escaped in the nick of time. Whew! But it's not the end, chivas next. As usual I dilute my chivas with water, at least it does not taste as bad as vodka with water. Mind you that you have to do it fast and discreetly. Anyone who sees you diluting your drink, you are made to drink double shot. Keke! 3 colleagues puked after that. Yucky! Oh, and it really did rain, right after we finished eating and we all had to run back to the coaches. All soaking wet.

Can't rem much from this day. Except that our "Volcano tour" was a complete disappointment. Had a vvv rushed lunch, at the most 1/2 hour, thanks to our head organiser. Had our D&D today as well, in the hotel's ballroom. The company is really crazy about drinking!! They have Q&A and those who answer right gets a prize and wrong, you have to drink up again. Duhhh... I won a 32 inch LCD TV from Samsung in the lucky draw :))) Thank you boss!!

Went to Pasir Panjang village for dinner after facial. Hubby brought me to this fish market place. A very fun place to eat in. It's like a jap restaurant cum mini supermarket. You order your food from the menu and in the meantime, you can also walk around the supermart and see what else you want. Let's say that you want some snack from the shelf, you just grab it and eat, they will charge accordingly to your table. It's a very fun concept. What you want from the supermart,you can just grab and they will charge to your table. Resonably priced too. I love their Uni sushi (sea urchin) :p~ But do take note that parking is horrible.

My younger sis is so sweet. She knows that I want a mini dachshund so badly and she got me one for my birthday!!! Though my bday is not till end of the year, she got me one in advance. So happy. It's a female, brown in color with large watery-like eyes. I got her a red leash and named her "Nika".That's me with Nika :) Ok, she's not real but you wait, Im going to get one once I have my own house.

Going for ramen with Karen and Sharon after work at The Central. Hope Winnie can make it. Saturday will be dinner with dar and I'm going to Hay dayries on Sunday!! Yayyy

Ok, I've been too tired and lazy to update this blog.

We had our Gala dinner today. It was such a long day and night. We reached The Ritz at 1pm for some dim sum and then went to have our hair donw. You can choose to have your make-up done by the artists as well but I prefer to do my own. More fun mah. My hair wasn't done up much, not dramatic enough for a gala but I have short hair and just did rebonding the day before so *shrugs* Supposed to have a briefing at 4.30pm but I guess that everyone is too busy to remember that so we have to act on our own instincts. We have 2 rooms at The Ritz so I did my make up and relax there before the chaos start at 6pm.

The ladies in Black relaxing and hanging around before we officially start work. At around 4.30-5pm, we went down to prepare ourselves as well as stand by for the dinner to start.

It was quite crowded at the recep table that night. Guests arrive at the same time, standing around the recep area to chit chat, lucky draw coupons to give out, photographs to be taken etc. But all of us were quite excited about the guests appearance of Jean Todt, Kimi and Felipe :)

I'm so disappointed that I did not get a picture of Kimi. But as all of you out there know, his nickname is "Iceman" so it's not easy to get a shot of him :( The California was unveiled at quite a late timing and I use my handphone to take a few pictures but not very clear. The whole area was dark to highlight the car's unveiling.

By 9pm, most of our stomaches are rumbling. Luckily, the desert counter was placed near us so at least we get to eat a bit.

Event ends at around 11.30pm. Was so tired that slept right after shower.

Had buffet dinner @ The Ritz last night. It was yum yum *droolz* Had a lot of crab meat salad and the salad is really choc-full of crab meat. Crab salad,s ashimi, soft shell crab,l obster, scallop, mussel, sushi blah blah...will go back there again. A pity did not take any pictures. Price was around $72+++ for weekends and $53+++ for weekdays. So if you want more value then go on weekdays, should be about the same spread.
After the dinner,some of us went off 1st and I stayed behind as hubby is still on the way to pick me up. And boss brought us all who have stayed behind to.....THE F1 TRACK!!

Woke up @ 10.30am. Wanted to sleep more but promised hubby that I'll bring him to Changi V for Bak Ku Teh. Was feeling a bit hungry as well so proceed with our plan with mum, da-jie and my nephew,Jalen. The soup was good, herbal type of Bak Ku Teh that I like. But they changed the name from "Hands Food Garden" to "The Village Chef". Wonder if it's still the same concept. Well you see, the last time that I went, under the old name, it was managed by ex-convicts. The food is good and we should give them another chance :) Anyway, we ordered 3 bowls of Bak Ku soup, 1 bowl of kidney soup, 1 bowl of pig tail soup, you tiao, salted vergetables, egg omlette. Total cost was $45. Quite resonable as we ordered drinks as well. All cleared!
After that we walked to the old jetty to have a look at the bum boats. Made up my mind to go Ubin one day again. Ages since I've been there.

After our CV tour, we went to Orchard for our walk and foot reflex. As we passed by Heeren, there is a booth giving out FREE coke light!! YES, FREE!! In the 500ml bottles :)) So since it's free for all, we took 2. One each mah. The foot reflex is good. Felt so sleepy after that. Dinner was at Toa Payoh, family dinner. Service was bad, food was lousy. We had butter prawn (v oily), cereal prawn, sweet and sour pork, shrimp paste chicken x2, stir fry vegetables x2, san lao hor fun x2, hot plate venison, fish meat bee hoon (diluted soup,tasteless). Think the best was the chicken. The others all fail lah. But nevertheless, it was great company :)

It's gonna be a long day. Briefing + buffet dinner @ The Ritz. Hope will end early,want to get up early tomorrow for my planned activities. HDB is having the bi-yearly sale of flats in Oct,hope that I can get my house. But the government also very contridicting lor. Keep asking people to get married and start family. But the price of housing keep going up but the land area keep going down. Education is not cheap either and plus all the misc items in,who can afford so many kids, not to mention Muslims,who are sponsored by the government so they can afford to have a whole kampung. *shakes head in disgust* Irks me just thinking of it. I'm not that racists but I just can't stand them. Loud music blaring in public transport as if they own the place,sitting right in the MIDDLE of the passageway,cursing and swearing at the top of their voice....u get the idea. Anyway,looking forward to my dinner tonite and tomorrow's activites!

Long week. Need a massage,looking forward to my foot reflex on Saturday. Tomorrow will be having a briefing for Gala dinner at the Ritz @ 7pm. Lucky dinner is provided. Don't know will end at what time. Next Wednesday is the Gala dinner and will have to work throughout the week till Fri then can have a rest day. Then Fri-Sun is the long awaited F1,hope I won't have free tickets to watch it. *cross fingers* Not that I don't like freebies but...I'll explain again some other time. I would like to mention that the free tickets are also the best seats in the house. Pit Grandstand :) But I would rather forfeit it for other stuff.

Watched "Pretty Woman" again by Julia Roberts yesterday. I just love the show so much. Funny and touching and such a fairytale...awwwA cartoon to share with all of you out there! A cartoon a day keeps the frowns away!

Met up with the girls on Sunday for steamboat diiner,Karen did not turn up. Hmph! It was quite expensive, $27 per head. But if you consider the free flow of drinks,the price would be still resonable. Got steamboat + bbq as well. Tempura,sushi,sashimi,cooked food. Guess that price is still resonable. Initial plan was to go to Chinese Garden after dinner but all of us are too tired and lazy so home sweet home :)

Had Bak Ku Teh lunch at AMK Ave 10 with Younger sis and mum. Thought that is's supposed to be good but it's now on my condemned list already.

Reason: Soup was tasteless. Think I should not describe it as tasteless. I should say soup color is near colorless, taste is hmm pepper soup. Get it? Meat is dry and tough.

Verdict: FAIL!!!

Looking forward to Satuday. My once a month weekend off! My off days are twice weekly but on weekdays,only once a month I get a weekend. Sounds like a domestic worker leh. Heh heh! But the good thing for weekdays off is that I do not have to squeeze around and join long queues if I'm going shopping. I don't shop during sales or weekends. Can't stand the crowd and the long queues just to get something @ 20% off. Nah~spare me. Anyway back to my Saturday, going to Changi Village for Bak Ku Teh,it's herbal based soup and for a good cause too. The stall is managed by ex-convicts,we should give them a 2nd-chance :) After that proceed to Forum for the chic boutiques and then it's foot reflexology @ Centrepoint. For dinner it's back to Toa Payoh for family dinner :) Can't wait for Saturday.

Going to Leonard Drake after work to sign package on offer. 6+3 facials @ only $900,normal is only 6+1. Good deal! So each session is only $100,even cheaper then the usual which is at least $150. So tired,going home to nap a bit then go airport to surprise dearie!

the new maid

I can't take it anymore! Mum has problems and complaints with EVERY maid that we hire. And I do mean EVERY. Today is just day 2 with the new maid-Emily and her complaints and nagging started...yesterday,on day 1.

Emily:New maid. No experience. Fillipino. Understands slight English (as stated by the agency).

Day 1: After dinner,mum complained that E does not eat most food. Does not eat stir-fried spinach and tomato sauce chicken. Claims that she dare not eat. When we speak to her,she does not seem to understand what we're telling her.

Day 2: Mum taught her how to sweep the floor using the Magiclean disposable wipes. So being new and inexperienced,she was slow especially around the corners. Was nervous as mum was eyeing her every move and of course wanted to get the floor as clean as possible. Mum COMPLAINED AGAIN that she is so slow at doing things. See until she want to faint.

Mum also told her to close the windows if it's raining. There was a slight drizzle and a small breeze which does not require closing windows at all. So it was understandable that E did not close the windows. Yeah you're right. Mum complained YET AGAIN that she did not close the windows and said that E is forgetful. Told her to close the windows if it is raining but did not remember her words. But it is just a slight drizzle,does not need the extend of closing the windows AT ALL. But for the benefit of myself,I decided to keep my mouth shut and continue with my lunch. Can't endure anymore nagging and grumbles.

And mind you,my mum is only at home till 1.30pm and she went out. Can you imagine the damage done to my ears during my off days and mum is home the hole day? Just want to relax and stay home during my days off. No nagging,no grumbles,no complaints...

Think that maybe my mum is the difficult one.

Can someone please recommend me a good maid? Someone who is alert and quick to think on her feet. *headache*

We're sending the maid back to the agency today. It's not that we're being hard-hearted. She was given lots of chances but still she does not appreciate it. There's this stain on the wall that was there for 1 month? Though she walk pass it EVERYDAY, she does not take the initiative to wipe it. And that is just one exmaple. Getting a new maid after she leaves. Hope no more problems with the new one. I can't take anymore of mum's maid's complaints and nagging.

Meet up with my 38s after work. It was a "Partners outing" so everyone came with their other half. Supposed to meet at 7pm for cze cha dinner at Jurong East but AS USUL EVERYONE was late. Our late queen, Winnie, arrived at 8.15pm which had me grumbling as usual. *hee*

Wanted to go to sing K after dinner but we seldom have a chance to sit down and chit-chat so we went to Sunset Way for drinks instead. Will be metting them again on 14/9/08 for steamboat and Mooncake festival. :)

Most people would think having someone to drive you around is a good thing. No squeezing and jostling with the crowd for a seat. Enjoy in the comfort of the chauffeur driven car,relax till you reach your destination.

I am one of those lucky ones, who have a car to bring me around. But despite that,I prefer to go public. Give me my Ez-link card anytime. Ya,I'm weird, would rather take my own transport then relax in the private car.

I used to have a car before. But sold it because of the extremely low usage. Despite owning a car,I still went public...what's up with me??? But I'm proud to say that that was a manual gearbox car :) Driving a manual car is more like driving....I like to be in control. Keke. Me=weirdo?

Facial day today. Love having facials. Makes me feel so clean and relax after every session. Always sleep during their massage. Hubby took leave and we had dinner at Seah Im after that. Went to Pacific coffee for drinks after dinner and I bought my Ben and Jerry's ice-cream over to eat. Yumyum. Bought magazines and Face Shop items as well.

I'm not the type who likes to plan what to do on my off day as my plans always get fouled up,one way or the other. They will find a way to mess themselves up. Always. Let's take yesterday for example. Hubby and I are supposed to have ramen at The Central. As it was my off day,he took a 1/2 day leave so that we can beat the dinner crowd and catch our movie later. And in the morning,he smsed me to say that he has to attend a last minute meeting which they don't know what time it will be. They just have to wait for the boss's instruction. So in the end,we decided to cancel his leave instead of waiting for nothing to happen. So the plan did not carry out as we planned. Not that it's the 1st time it has happened. Just that I can't recall the previous incidents.

Anyway,I continued with my ramen lunch with my mum. Can't remember the name of the restaurant but it was good. The soup is boiled with pork bones and it has a slight milky taste. A bit salty though. I ordered the set which comes with rice and egg as well. The Ikura with the rice was fresh and don't have the after taste at those sushi restaurant. The egg has a slight runny

yolk which was easy on the palette and not sticky. Yummy

We ordered the pork cheek which is the signature dish. Tender but I feel that the slices were too thick and a bit salty.

Best part of the restaurant that I like is the jug of water placed at every table for customers. No more waving to service staff just to get a refill of water.

Verdict: Ramen looks like instant noodles but taste nothing like that. Springy noodles, milky tasty broth. Will go back again with hubby the next time. :)

Hokkaido ice-cream for dessert! In my favourite sea salt caramel flavour! *happy girl*

I bought tickets for our movie so since Hubby can't make it,no sense to watse the tickets. So we went to watch Wall-E!

It was a cute movie,funny with fantastic graphics. Be sure that you know the story line before you catch it or else you'll be thinking that it's a show with no story line.

Pinball machines

Suddenly have this love for pinball machines. Ever since I started playing them on my PSP. You must be thinking using PSP to play pinball? Duhz~ But the visual and sound effects of the machine makes me so amazed by it. It's not just a coin machine with a metal ball and 2 flippers. There's more to it. Consider the work put in to design a machine. You have to be creative,to construct those little gadgets that the ball hits and the colors have to be appealing to the crowd and the sound effects and so much more. There are so many different types in the market I just feel like having them at home so I can admire them all day long.

Was reminiscing those yester-years when I just started clubbing. It was soooo long ago...time waits for no one :( I was not yet 15 when I started clubbing. In those days, colorful clothes were the trend. Shirt and jeans in red, yellow, cobalt blue, green, all the bright colors you can think of.
And to be "in", you have to stick a long-tail comb in your back pocket to finish the look. I don't know why, but that is the trend those days. Horrible right? Anyway, in those days, there were strict rules on the age limit for entry to discos. So there are tea dances catered specially for us underaged teens. Of cos, non-alcoholic drinks only. The hottest discos that period were Canto, Fire and Sparks. The 1st disco I stepped into was Fire. Still remember the cover was $10 for 2 soft drinks. It was small and packed with people. Bengs and lians everywhere and fights every week was a norm. A pity that I can't find any pictures of the disco before they closed down. I still prefer going to Canto in Marina South. It's bigger and more spacious. $8 for 3 drinks. The only thing is that it's quite far. From the mrt station you still have to take a bus down. Of cos if you want to arrive in style you can take a cab down. But most of us are cheapos, so we choose bus. It's free anyway. The bus arrives, you get up from the front or back and just sit down. Without paying. Ya, those were the days. Same as Fire, Canto has their fair share of fights every week. What's new? After talking so much, let you see what I found!

Drink coupon fron Canto! Memories....After that we'll normally proceed to Lucky Plaza. For what I can't remember but we just like to hang out there. After I got older, the places also upgraded to Sparks, Music Underground, Ridley's, Dbl O, Madam Wong's, Devil's Bar, Page 1, etc. All these are no longer around except for Dbl O. But those memories will always stay. Time will never turn back and we all grow up but happy and carefree days will always be a precious memory to me.

domestic worker

Most people refer them to as "maids" but "domestic worker" would be a nicer term but of cos it's longer and living in Singapore, we still call them "maids". Anyway, I'm one of those fortunate ones to have a helper at home to help out woth the cooking and household chores. We need to have one, all of us are not home the whole day. Byt he time we reach home, it's like 7pm onwards and who still has the energy to clean and cook for you. Oh and my house consists of 4 women and 2 lively kids. But having a maid is like having none at all. The house still appears as messy, dusty and unkept. My maid is just so lucky that no one is home to order her around but we still hope that she has the initiative to do her work. Not really, judging by the looks of the house. her daily routine consists of:

~Wake up at 7am

~Mop floor, wash clothes

~Prepare lunch and bring the kid down to catch school bus

~Siesta and TV time till 5pm

~Prepare dinner

~After dinner, wash dishes

~10pm bedtime

Which maid sleeps at 10pm? It's even earlier then us! It's horrible. She not only is lazy, she also can't follow instructions.

Once I told her to bring out the toaster to heat up my curry puff. Yup, she did bring it out, and end of story. The toaster remain unplugged on the table. Zzzz, it's common sense. I already told her that I want to heat up the puff. So bring it out, plug it, line the try with foil and a job is done. It won't take even 5mins. But maids these days are endangered species. Step on their tail and the government will be looking for you or worse, you may find yourself facing her and a cleaver. So just try to live with it till the day her contract ends and I'm sorry but we'll have to say good-bye to you.
It'ss be good for all of us, we can't guarantee a better maid next time but at least we can stop my mum's endless complaints about her.

Just came back from Isetan supermarket at Shaw House. It was quite crowded considering it was in the afternoon. The Japs are really clever at selling their products, cute packaging, fresh clean look of vegetables and fruits, food promotions, food sampling... And not to mention the price tag that comes with the food. $6.60 for 6 eggs, $9.80 for 10 organic eggs, it's like, wow, is it really neccesary? It all taste the same anyway. But talk as I wish, I still got one of those pricey grocery :)

Presenting The White Radish! $4.13 for 1/3 of radish. But it's supposed to be very sweet and very suitable for soups. I love soups :p~

I saw this Anpan-man potato bites in the freezer and I could not stop myself . I just have to get it. And 1 is never enough, so i got another packet of "Star" potato bites. Hope it taste as nice as it looks :)

Not feeling very well. Having slight fever from the air-con last night. I'm just not suited to sleep in cold conditions. Give me a fan and I'm a happy girl. Gonna rest now. Ciao!

Ok, as I've promised, a review of the beauty products that I've tried before. Not a lot but hope that it'll help a bit. I won't touch on all the skin care products, just the more important ones. Do note that different skin types will react to different products. Mine is just a guide for you.

I'll start with cleansers. If you're one of those people who thinks a good bar of soap is all you need to wash your face, think again. Don't get me wrong. Soap formulated for your type of skin can be a good thing, but most soaps (especially the antibacterial type) are too harsh for your body, much less your face. Soap is not the only thing that cleans skin; in fact, most facial cleansers are soap-free, oil-free, and fragrance free. Choose a cleanser that deep cleans, gently exfoliates dead, dull cells, and moisturizes, even if you have problem oily skin. Oil and moisture are two different things. If, in fact, you have problem skin that needs an antibacterial cleanser, choose one that does the job without drying your skin. Be picky about choosing a daily cleanser. It will pay off in the long run.

#1-Biotherm Acnopur Pore Unclogging Purifying Foam Pleasent, light fragrance. A little dot lathers up pretty well. Leaves face squeaky clean. After long usage,found that skin did not not improve. Blackheads and clogged pores are still on the rise. Does not unclog as claimed.

#2- The Face Shop Quick and Clean Blemish cleanser (picture not available)

Colorless gel in green bottle. Love the light cammomile and tea tree smell. Value for money. Cleans face but does not leave the squeaky feel. Good for everyday use as it's inexpensive.

#3- Murad Clarifying cleanser

Best for acne control. Reduces 99% of irritating bacteria instantly. Contains antibacterial ingredients to control breakouts. But make sure that you follow with a moisturizer afterwards as it will cause dryness of the skin. My acne visibly improved and scars lighten.

#4- Dermalogica Special Cleansing gel

Frangrance free. Contains botanical extract to calm skin and cleanse without the harsh feel. Best brand that I have ever used. Recommended for normal skin.

5- Dermalogica Derma Clay Cleanser
Best for combination skin,helps in oil control. Non-foamy texture. Have started using it and am LOVING it! Helps unclog pores and oil control is good. Thumbs up!

#6- Burt's Bees Orange Essence Facial cleanser

98.8% Natural face cleanser. Contains orange peel, lanolin, olive oil, orange oil etc. Supposed to be a make up remover as well but I don't find that it cleans that well. Leaves an oily film on my face after rinsing. Have to cleanse with another wash after using this. Smell is yummy! More for dry and dehydrated skin.

Next up is Powders!

Pressed powder is ideal for those who are always on the go. Unlike most loose powders, pressed powder is extremely portable and gives the skin a matte finish. It also usually contains a mirror inside of its compact, which is ideal for those with stubborn skin that demands touch ups often throughout the day. I, myself like pressed powders to foundations. But I do have lots of 2-way cakes as well. Although most state that they contain SPF, it's normally not enough for our skin. Do apply your own sunblock before you apply powder.

#1- DiorSkin Forever Compact.

Compact too bulky for my liking. Oil control was bad. Coverage was average. Not recommended.

#2- Lancome Maquicake UV forever Compact Foundation

Coverage was good. Controlled oil pretty well. Was a bit streaky when reapplied though.

#3- Chanel Mat Lumiere Luminous Matte powder

Good oil control. No streaks when reapplied. Coverage is good. Will recommend to others. Not exactly on the low price side though.

#4- Biotherm Finish Velvet Pressed Powder SPF15

Poor coverage. Face look cakey and fake. Poor oil control.

#5- The Face Shop Flower CompactNice light frangrance. Said to made from flower petals. Light coverage. Gives a dewy look. lacking in oil control. Small and cute case suitable to bring around. Great for touch-ups. Value for money.

#6- Averine Two-Way compact foundation

Supposed to non-comedogenic and hence does not cause clogged pores. Suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin. Have noticed I have less clogged pores after using and skin did improved. A bit pricey though.

Got this at Daiso. Shinkansen!

Went to Vivo for dinner yesterday. Had Long John as I had been talking about it for a long time. Got a few things at Daiso but the cotton pad that I wanted is out of stock! :( The quality is really very good and it does not leave fibres on your face. Hope that I can get it at other Daiso stores.

After dinner we went to Mustafa as tut-tut hubby redeemed a voucher for there. And because of the voucher, we have to go there juz to use it. We went quite early (10pm) and it was packed. I like to go during those twilight hour when I can walk around without having to rub shoulders with people.

Due to my bad complexion, I can't use those cutey, off the shelf Korean/Jap brands for my face. I now have stick to Dermalogica products for my face. Pre-cleanse, cleanse, tone,mask,scrub. It's not cheap but worth it for my face. I have tried going to skin doctors and the effect is good for a while. But continue using for a few months and it loses its effect and is very drying.

Noticed that I have lots of earthly and natural eye color so decided to get some pastel,metallic,shimmer type. Got this online. Color was quite nice and gave a metallic sheen when blend in. Lasted the whole day without running. Nice.

My Bare Escentuals mascara is finishing soon, so I got myself another brand-Laura Mercier. Love trying out new brands. It's supposed to give fullness and length to lashes. Love the clean, chic look.

Hubby got a surprise on his birthday last year. I ordered and delivered 2 cakes to his workplace. I was at work so he was quite surprised at receiving the cakes. :)

Adam's wedding dinner. Such a surpriseto recieve an invitation from him. We were classmates in Shatec 1998. After the course, we rarely keep in contact except met-up during a CNY gathering in his house. It was nice to see all of them again.

Just found this picture from my Sec school days. That was in Sec 2? I'm the skinny skinny kneeling in front. That was in 1995.

But of cos,all women blossom into a flower at a certain age. And I hope I did too...

Most women and even guys love cosmetics. I started applying them since I was 13, in my Ah-lian daze. And being young, vain and unknowledgable, I did not cleanse my face properly and hence, acheieved clogged pores, acne and bad complexion up to today. So an advice to those who love applying cosmetics, no mattter how lazy you are, remember to thorough cleanse your face at the end of the day.

I have also mentioned that I love food! But I'm just too lazy to shoot all the yummies that I have eaten. Have to think of my stomache 1st! Here are some pics though.

Can't wait to go for holiday to relax. Was actually considering to go to San Francisco with Karina but in the end have to give as I was dilly-dallying and thus not enough time to apply for leave. And my grandfather just passed away do it would not be good to go on a holiday as well. The girl is now there enjoying herself with a whole suite to herself. Hmph! :/

Looking forward to my next trip in October! Though it's only nearby Bali (and I don't even like the sun), it's an all expenses paid company trip so just make full use of the trip. After that will be hubby's company trip to Thailand? Taiwan? Bali (again!)? His is not definite yet but i do hope that I'm able to go. One thing I don't like about going overseas is the packing AND unpacking. Zzzzz. Next year is trip to Japan! Yayyy!!! Pre-honeymoon trip. I can buy all my Anpan-man and Crayon shin-chan! Have started saving up for the trip....so exciting! I want to go to Kyoto to see geishas, hubby wants to go to Tokyo, maybe Hokkaido also? So exciting!

Birth of a new cottage

Ta-da! Today is the birth of a new blog-Oolongcha-cottage. As I have mentioned, I am an IT idiot and well, not good with gadgety things. I will try to keep up with times, although at a slower pace. But slow and staedy wins the race. Right? :)

There will be lots of post-dated pictures from years ago but I'll try to post new pics as well. Just give me more time to play with this "blog" thing.
